As a community of nonfiction storytellers in Savannah, we are proud to announce the launch of our 2023 micro-short documentary series made by local filmmakers for coastal Georgia residents. Each month, our goal is to curate and share a short documentary about the region to our Youtube and social channels made by area professionals and students.
DOC Savannah members have been working together to produce these shorts in efforts tell stories about Savannah we don’t always get to hear about.
The micro series premieres with Seven Acres and A Church directed by Caroline Josey Karoki. The film introduces a septuagenarian and community matriarch in her fight to preserve her church, heritage, and community’s history in Savannah, GA.
